I generally use the Parametric EQ 2 (the one with the active display) for coarse high and low pass filtering on individual mixer channels (eg. Getting rid of the lower harmonics from basic 3xOsc patches, cutting out high end noise from samples, etc).

The problem I run into is that when I use it to cut out, say, everything from 150Hz down, it never really cuts the frequencies all the way out, I always end up having to roll off using the mixer channel's 3-band EQ, which seems way more active. Is there a way to adjust how much the individual band controls on the Parametric EQ effect the output? I always end up getting the result I want, it just seems silly to have to do it twice. Don't get me wrong, I love the Parametric EQ 2, I think it's probably one of the best tools at my disposal, I just find that it lacks when using it for absolute cuts. When I want to completely remove all the frequencies below or above a certain threshold, it never seems to get rid of them like a filter with a hard cutoff freq. I imagine it may have something to do with the band shape selection, but even when I muck around with that, I never get the cutoffs I'm looking for, which is where the channel EQ comes in, which like I mentioned, seems way more active.

I haven't actually tried any changes to the band orders, but I definitely will. It seems like those are variances of the band type? Or does that actually affect the behavior of the cutoff sweep?

I can the definitely hear the difference between doing a steep cut with the P-EQ 2 vs. The channel EQ, especially when pulling down the bass fader on the channel EQ, which is usually centered around 100Hz. And I really only have to use the channel mixer when cutting out low frequencies, usually from samples or patches with a lot of harmonics, eg.
