I have a piece of equipment that uses three small monochrome OLED displays to display graphical information. The OLED displays are generic -- I can't trace the markings on them to any manufacturer. Occasionally, one of the displays will display a single very bright (much brighter than the normal brightness of the display) pixel and nothing else. Power-cycling the box extinguishes the bright pixel, but leaves the display completely blank. Further power-cycling does not help. The first time this happened the display came back to life after leaving the box unplugged overnight.

The same issue occurred several months later with the same symptoms. Power-cycling and leaving the box unplugged overnight did not help this time. Buddha hoga tera baap movie review. I was using it two days later when the display spontaneously came back to life on its own. Any idea how to go about diagnosing this problem? The manufacturer won't look at it when the problem isn't occurring, and it occurs so rarely and 'fixes' itself so that sending it in might not do any good. The display is obviously not dead, since it does come back to life on its own, but something is causing it to periodically go blank for a day or two at a time. I don't have schematics for this piece of equipment (it's an HF ham transceiver).

It's dejavue, all over again.:D I have beat my head on the bench for hours on a similar problem on a Kenwood P25 radio(about 20 different s/n). The lcd will malfunction in a similar manner, and power cycling does not fix it. What does fix it, is disturbing (moving 1 of several ribbon cable/connector junctions) the connection to the ckt bd it is mounted on, or the connection between that bd and the next bd in the radio. It appears that the initialization of the lcd is not complete and no error is noticed by the main cpu. The radio operates correctly after that, but the lcd is blank or all blue.(the color you see in a cracked monochrome lcd) Moving the connection while the radio is on does nothing, it must be power cycled after moving a suspect connection. The problem is that it is nearly impossible to move only 1 connection due to the layering of bds and multiple cables. Once it is working, the failure cannot be repeated on the bench.

Lots of fun. Are your displays soldered in place or use connectors? When you get another failure, disturb the connection in some way.(remove mntg screws and lift off bd, unplug ribbon cable, etc) Then turn on the radio. Or, if the 3 displays are identical, and the failure is always the same display, swap it with another one.(assuming connectors exist) If the problem moves, you have the suspect.
